All pupils are required to remain at school during the lunchtime period and may use the School Meals Service or bring a packed lunch from home.
School Meal Provision
The school offers hot school lunches to all pupils. These are supplied by our catering provider, Chartwells. The cost for a two-course lunch is £2.18 per day for Key Stage 2 pupils. Pupils in Reception class, Year 1 and Year 2 are not charged for school meals.
Ordering is very flexible - you do not have to have a school meal every day, you can select days to suit you and your family. To ensure that your child receives the meal of their choice from the menu, all meals will need to be pre-ordered one week in advance. Lunch orders should be returned to school no later than 9:00am Wednesday morning for the meals to be provided the following week; this also allows you to be involved in your child’s choice of meal.
School meals must be paid for weekly and the full amount should be brought into school with your order. The school cannot allow credit for meals.
Children may bring a packed lunch from home that is eaten in the dining room with their class. We ask parents to be aware that we have no refrigeration system so the boxes have to be stored at room temperature. Packed lunches should be healthy and balanced and should not contain any hot or fizzy drinks, energy drinks, sweets, or chocolate bars. We also ask that children do not bring glass bottles or glass flasks, as these are easily broken. Please ensure lunch boxes are clearly marked with the child’s name and class. If you send your child with a dessert, please include a spoon.
We do try and monitor those children who are regularly leaving too much but we also ask children to bring any surplus food, and empty wrappings, home in their box so you know what they are eating.
In the event of a child forgetting to bring their own packed lunch to school, every effort is made to contact parents.
