    P.E. Vision Statement

At our school, we believe that every child should develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead a healthy, active lifestyle. Through high-quality Physical Education, children will learn to move competently, confidently and safely in a range of physical activities. We aim to inspire all pupils to enjoy being active, challenge themselves, work collaboratively and develop resilience, respect and sportsmanship. We want every child to leave our school with the physical literacy, understanding and motivation to participate positively in physical activity, sport and healthy living throughout their lives.

    Subject Intent

Our PE curriculum is designed to develop physically literate pupils who acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence to participate successfully in a wide range of physical activities. Through a progressive and inclusive curriculum, pupils build fundamental movement skills, develop competence across different activity areas and learn how physical activity contributes to their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

We provide opportunities for all pupils to experience challenge, achieve success and develop important personal qualities such as resilience, teamwork, leadership, fairness and respect. Through both curriculum PE and competitive sport, pupils learn how to apply their skills, evaluate performance and strive for personal improvement. Our aim is that every child leaves primary school equipped with the knowledge, habits and enthusiasm needed to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle now and in the future.
