Our Church School

As a Church of England school, St Peter’s CE Primary is rooted in Christian values - PEACE, HOPE, JOY – that shape who we are, how we live and how we learn together. Our identity as a church school is central to daily life: it guides our relationships, inspires our curriculum and nurtures the spiritual, moral and personal growth of every child.

We believe that every pupil is uniquely created, valued and loved by God -'Valuable and empowered to be the best they can be'. Through an environment built on unconditional positive regard, we help children explore big questions, reflect on their own beliefs and develop a sense of purpose. Collective Worship, prayer and moments of stillness offer opportunities for pupils to grow spiritually, to wonder, and to recognise the importance of faith in shaping lives and communities.

At St Peter’s, we want children to feel a deep sense of belonging—within their class, their school family and the wider community. We help them understand their place in the world by exploring local, national and global issues, encouraging them to see connections between their own experiences and the lives of others. Through this, we aim to support all pupils to develop empathy, responsibility and a desire to contribute positively to society.

Our role as a church school is to serve our community with integrity, to uphold the values of the Church of England and to provide an education that enables every child to flourish academically, socially and spiritually. We are committed to helping pupils grow into thoughtful, confident and compassionate individuals who understand the world around them and their ability to make a difference within it.
