Why Collective Worship?

Collective Worship is a central part of daily life in our school and lies at the heart of our Christian distinctiveness. It is a valued time when the whole school community pauses, comes together and reflects on the teachings of Jesus, the values we share and the world we live in.

Through worship, pupils are given space to think deeply, to wonder, to celebrate and to consider how faith, hope and love can shape their own lives and relationships. Our acts of worship draw on biblical stories, Christian festivals, global themes and the lived experiences of our pupils, helping them make meaningful connections between faith and everyday life.

Collective Worship strengthens our sense of belonging, offering opportunities for pupils and adults to gather as one community—listening, participating, singing, praying or reflecting in ways that are inclusive and respectful of all. It supports pupils’ spiritual development, encourages them to explore big questions and nurtures the values that guide our school family.

As a Church of England school, Collective Worship is not just something we do; it is part of who we are. It shapes our ethos, inspires our actions and helps every child to grow in wisdom, hope and compassion.
