Sports Premium Grant 2025-2026

For the 2025-2026 academic year, St Peter's CofE Primary School is committed to using the PE and Sport Premium Grant to provide high quality physical education, increase participation in sporting activities, and promote healthy, active lifestyles for all pupils. We believe that physical activity plays a vital role in supporting pupils' physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence and personal development. Through our carefully planned provision, we aim to ensure that every child has access to engaging PE lessons, opportunities for competitive sport and a wide range of extracurricular activities.

What is Sports Premium Grant?

The Sports Premium Grant is additional funding from the Government to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. It is also for improving the health and wellbeing of primary pupils. Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best way of using the money.

Since September 2013, Ofsted inspections report on how primary schools spend their Sports Premium Grant. Schools are accountable for the way they spend the grant, and must publish details of how they spend the grant on their website.

How much is the Sports Premium Grant?

Schools with 16 or fewer eligible pupils receive £1,000 per pupil.

Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil.
