Design & Technology Vision Statement

Design & Technology harnesses the creative spirit in all our learners. St. Peter’s children will become critical thinkers, analysing the physical world around them, posing questions and conjuring up imaginative ideas as solutions. They’ll examine how we interact with an ever-changing technological world and how innovations shape our future lives.

Subject Intent

Design fosters creative thinkers, who solve problems. Through practical activities, pupils are taught the knowledge, understanding and skills needed for design and making.

They’ll crosslink ideas from mathematics, science, computing and art. They’ll take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative and enterprising. They’ll evaluate past and present design and technology, to develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily lives.
